Topology Upgrade
The equipment should be prepared
- Laptop with a wired connection
- Console cable for remote to the Access Point
- UTP cable for data transfer from the laptop to the Access Point
- TFTP software (TFTPD32) to transfer the data from the laptop to the Access Point
Procedure step buy step Upgrade AP to LWAPP
a. Log in to Cisco AP (default login: Cisco)
b. If the configuration contains, clean configuration by using the command
AP#erase startup-config
c. Perform reload on the AP
AP#reload
d. Prepare a TFTP server on PC
· Turn on the TFTP program by clicking on the TFTP software
· Move Access Point OS files on the TFTP root folder
e. Setting the TFTP Server IP Address and Laptops
· Setting the IP address 192.168.1.1 on your PC

AP#enable
AP#conf t
AP(config)#int bvi 1
AP(config-if)#ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0
AP(config-if)#no shut
f. Perform a ping test from the laptop to the PC and also reverse its direction.
g. Perform download the IOS from tftp command
archive download-sw
/overwrite tftp://[IP_Address_TFTP]/[IOS LWAPP]
example:
archive download-sw /overwrite
tftp://10.0.0.1/c1130-k9w7-tar.124-10b.JDA3.tar
h. Perform reload
AP#reload
i. Put this command to ensure clean WLC from the previous config
AP#clear lwapp
private-config
AP#clear lwapp ap ip
address
j. If successful it will be a revelation of a join request from AP after the AP in reload
